‘CONTRA_FORMA’ is an evening length work created by Elyse Fahey and Madrone Matysiak. It premiered in Albuquerque in January, and was invited to headline Festival Flamenco Alburquerque’s FRINGE in June. The show features Yjastros principal dancer Kayla Lyall, master improvisor Donna Jewell, National Institute of Flamenco founder Eva Encinias, visionary cellist and vocalist Caitlin Fahey Crow, and co-artistic directors and creators, Elyse Fahey and Madrone Matysiak.

An excerpt of ‘CONTRA_FORMA’ was invited to SOLOCOREOGRAFICO 2025 in Lyon, France, where it won the Audience Award, and will be performed again in August at the CORA International Dance Festival in Taranto, Italy.

‘Run For Your Life’ premiered at North Fourth Art Center in Albuquerque in 2023, and was invited to Carmel Dance Festival’s 2024 Choreography Fellowship showcase in Carmel, CA under the name ‘New Year, New You!’. One of eight selected solos out of 550 worldwide submissions, ‘Run For Your Life’ was most recently performed for SOLOCOREOGRAFICO 2024 in Frankfurt and Friedrichshafen, Germany.
