Elyse Fahey and Madrone Matysiak began dancing together in 2016, and founded their collaborative production company, RigorMortis, in 2022. Their projects include site specific dance installations, dance and technology collaborations with Drew Trujillo and Sarah Bennett Davidson, contemporary dance concerts, and the Albuquerque Fringe Festival.
‘CONTRA_FORMA’ is an evening length work of contemporary dance created by Elyse Fahey and Madrone Matysiak.
The show features Yjastros principal dancer Kayla Lyall, master improvisor Donna Jewell, National Institute of Flamenco founder Eva Encinias, visionary cellist and vocalist Caitlin Fahey Crow, and co-artistic directors and creators, Elyse Fahey and Madrone Matysiak.
Premiering in Albuquerque in January 2025, ‘CONTRA_FORMA’ was invited to headline Festival Flamenco Alburquerque’s first ever FRINGE performance series in June. An excerpt of the concert was also invited to SOLOCOREOGRAFICO 2025 in Lyon, France, where it won the Audience Award.
